Website Research

The task was to research an unknown website and check its safety and worthiness.
To start we chose sunbeds as a topic, typed it into google until we came across 'The Sunbed Association', none in the group had heard of this site or the association itself.

Although the site was initially appealing with bright colours and lots of links, it soon emerged that it was bias towards the use of sunbeds and the good they can do for ones health.
So we decided to play devil's advocate for the presentation and would speak highly of the site and recommend it to the rest of the group, sighting the research they had put in, ease of use, the fact a doctor was ambassador for the site and its regular updates. This was to see if the group would pick up on the biasness of the site.

Having presented this and answered a few questions, we informed the class that the website is obviouslt bias and in many parts innaccurate, for example you can only acquire vitamin D from the suns rays, and to the fact that the research for their site was taken out completely by themselves.

We scored the site 6/10. Although a professional looking site and well constructed, the content let it down heavily.

Match Day

What better way to warm up for a game of rugby against Cardiff than a 2 hour Developing Key Skills in ICT and Visual Commuincation followed by an hours lecture on theories of thinking and learning...boom!
